On November 3, 2023, N1 (then Layer N) secured a strategic investment from BlackPine, a Hong Kong-based private investment firm. The amount was not disclosed, and the media reports appear to have since been removed, likely because the project changed its business model and direction, pivoting from an Ethereum L2 to its own L1.
