Berachain is a pioneering L1 blockchain powered by the Proof of Liquidity consensus mechanism. It introduces an additional soul-bound governance token to differentiate the network security mechanisms and governance processes and facilitate more effective coordination between dApps and chain network in order to maintain liquidity on-chain.
It will be powered by the governance token $BGB and gas token $BERA which will be used for paying fees and securing the network. The Berachain team has been already hinting multiple times on upcoming airdrop and token release, and now, in cooperation with Lombard and StaleStone launched a pre-deposit campaign.

How to join Berachain - Pre-Deposit Campaign?
To participate in the BeraChain pre-deposit, you need to acquire either $BTC or $ETH on the Ethereum mainnet in your wallet. Since the collaboration with Berachain has been initiated by two main protocols - StakeStone and LombardFi, the pre-deposit vaults are placed there.
❗️ Before proceeding with pre-deposit, note that the funds in the vault are locked until the approximate launch of Berachain mainnet - April 14th, 2025. Still, you will receive back a liquid version of that token with the “bera-” suffix, and there might be a chance to swap the assets back in the LPs on Uniswap.
StakeStone
Since StakeStone is focusing on liquid staking of Ethereum, it has enabled support for $ETH tokens and LRTs on its platform. The currently supported assets are:
As there is only one Ethereum LRT available right now, we suggest you restake $ETH on StakeStone to receive back $STONE and only then pre-deposit tokens in the Berachain vault. This way you will be able to earn StakeStone points + points for the following protocols:
LombardFi
Lombard Finance, unlike StakeStone, specializes in liquid Bitcoin restaking with its $LBTC LRT. Hence, on Lombard Finance you will be able to deposit your Bitcoins and $BTC LRTs into the Berachain vault. The currently supported assets are:
However, as the contest becomes even more popular, it is very likely to see deposits in other wrapped and LRT of Bitcoin. Still, since there are no other options with Bitcoin LRTs left, we suggest you restake $BTC on Lombard to earn the following rewards:
Once done with a deposit, you will receive tokens back with a “bera-” suffix, which can either be swapped on Uniswap DEX or deposited into the LP to earn additional APR (currently available only for $ETH deposits).

Step-by-step Guide

Receive back “bera” assets and add them to any LP on Uniswap if there is so (currently works for beraETH only);
