Soneium is an Ethereum Layer 2 blockchain network built on the OP Stack, founded by Sony Global Corporation. It aims to bridge Sony's Web2 services to the blockchain while onboarding thousands of Sony users into Web3.
As of September 2024, the protocol has not confirmed the release of its own token, but it is highly likely to occur once the network is launched on the mainnet. We assume the primary criteria for qualifying for the airdrop will be user activity on its Minato testnet. Therefore, the CoinLaunch team has decided to write a comprehensive guide on how to participate in the Soneium blockchain’s testnet.
To participate in the Soneium testnet, you first need to acquire some $ETH from the Sepolia faucet and bridge the tokens to the Soneium blockchain.
Currently, there are no dApps within its ecosystem that support the Minato testnet. As a result, activities are limited to transferring Sepolia ETH from one wallet address to another and withdrawing ETH from the Soneium crypto network. You can also complete two small quests on Layer3.
Bitfrost, Neemo Finance, QuickSwap, and Sake Finance will likely be the first to enable the use of the Minato testnet within their dApps, as they are already mentioned as members of Soneium L2’s ecosystem.
Once that happens, engage with these DeFi apps on the Soneium network as much and as consistently as possible.
Good luck! 🍀
Acquire some ETH from the Sepolia faucet;
Bridge ETH to the Soneium testnet;
Make some transactions between multiple wallet addresses on Soneium;
Participate in the Soneium quests on Layer3;
Withdraw ETH from the Soneium testnet;
Wait until the dApps appear on Soneium network;
Engage with those dApps;
Repeat the process as much as possible.
