Ondo Finance is a decentralized investment bank that bridges traditional finance and DeFi by offering structured products and tokenized real-world assets. Its native ONDO token serves as the governance mechanism for the Ondo DAO, allowing holders to vote on key protocol parameters.
In May 2022, Ondo Finance conducted a secondary community-focused allocation, known as the Private Tranche Round on CoinList. While the exact allocation size for this specific whitelist event remains an unverified ecosystem rumor, official statements confirm a combined total of over $10 million raised across both CoinList tranches at a $525 million network valuation. This private tranche reportedly offered ONDO tokens at $0.03 to high-karma CoinList users and long-term supporters. Participants were subject to a 12-month lock-up period starting June 1, 2022, followed by an 18-month linear release schedule.

To participate in the Private Tranche Round on CoinList, users were required to be long-term Ondo supporters on the Priority List or possess high Karma on the CoinList platform. Eligible participants had to complete an advanced KYC process and reside outside of restricted jurisdictions such as the United States, China, South Korea, and Canada. Funding could be provided using USDT, USDC, ETH, BTC, ALGO, or SOL.
The token sale was highly successful, distributing ONDO tokens to over 18,000 purchasers from 145 countries across both tranches. Whitelisted users were able to submit their allocations between $100 and $2,000 through the CoinList portal before the final deadline.
