Polychain Capital

Polychain Capital (PC) is a venture capital firm based in San Francisco (CA) that was founded by Olaf Carlson-Wee, who had been the first employee of Coinbase. Polychain manages digital assets and invests in blockchain-related companies and technologies. The fund was launched in 2016 with $5 million capital raised from thirty investors. Coinbase led Serie A, and a top-rated Andreessen and Horowitz (a16z) led Series B. 

In 2017, Polychain gained its investors about 2,303% ROI after fees, which was one of the highest returns rates ever seen among billion-dollar investment firms. 

A bit later, in 2018, PC already had volumes of more than a billion dollars under management, which was the first time when such a significant milestone was reached by a cryptocurrency-oriented fund. 

A quite aggressive, but very well-thought-out and deeply competent strategy makes the fund a truly outstanding player and one of the main sharks within tech and web3 industries. Some of the prominent projects, that Polychain Capital made investments in are Coinbase, Cosmos Network, Uniswap, CoinList, Compound, MyCrypto, and Solana.
