SunPump

Sunpump is a direct competitor of Pumpfun Launchpad, but it's built specifically for the Tron blockchain memecoin launches.

According to a recent post by Coindesk, the force behind the launch of Sunpump Tron launchpad was Justin Sun, the founder of the Tron blockchain and HTX exchange. His goal was to lure liquidity and memecoin traders from the Solana network to his own. In the interview, he also mentioned that, unlike its competitor Pumpfun, the protocol will conduct a thorough vetting of creators and projects before allowing them to launch on the platform. This ensures they meet specific standards of integrity and potentially increases the quality of launched projects.

That being said, two of the first memecoins launched on the platform, $SUNDOG and $SUNWUKONG, have managed to grow to over $240M and $18M, respectively, with Justin Sun directly promoting and backing both tokens. This has led to a wave of memecoin creations on Sunpump, allowing it to achieve an impressive 37,000+ token launches and generate more than $2.3M in revenue within its first week of operation. In comparison, Pumpfun, which launched in April 2024, conducted over 1.8M token launches and made around $10M in revenue.

Sunpump's rapid rise in popularity can be attributed to a few exclusive features:

• Direct involvement of Justin Sun in the creation of the platform and token launches;
• The launchpad’s initiative to conduct research on token creators to ensure higher-quality token launches;
• The decline in profitability of trading on Pumpfun, where, according to the CoinTelegraph report, users have a better chance of winning a casino jackpot than picking the right memecoin on Pumpfun;
• The increase in rug pulls and other types of scams on Pumpfun;

🪙 Tron Sunpump Fees: For creating a token on its platform, Sunpump meme launchpad charges a 20 $TRX ($3.2) fee, which can be situationally cheaper than the 0.5% developer buy commission. Meanwhile, for trading tokens on the protocol, users pay a 1% commission, which is double the fee of trading on Pumpfun.
