Linera is a high-performing L1 blockchain optimized specifically for building real-time Web3 applications by separating the role of proposing the block creation from the actual transaction validating while integrating parallel transaction processing to deliver cheaper and quicker transactions on its chain.
Since its foundation in 2021, Linera crypto project has managed to raise over $12M from a few top tier investors like a16z, Tribe Capital, and some others.

🪙 Linera token: Despite the release of its whitepaper, the CoinLaunch team hasn’t found any info on the potential Linera token, and subsequently its airdrop or token sale. However, since it is an L1 blockchain with a confirmed delegated Proof of Stake consensus model, it is almost inevitable for the project to release its own token.
Nevertheless, as the network is still in an alpha testnet, open for developers only, we doubt that the Linera mainnet, and subsequent token are set to be launched anytime soon. But, it is always better to prepare for a potential Linera airdrop as early as possible, which is why we prepared for you a set of the most notable pros and cons of the Linera crypto project:
✅ Linera pros:
❌ Linera cons:
Founded in 2021 by Mathieu Baudet, former researcher at Libra/Novi and co-author of the FastPay academic paper. Raised $6 MM in seed fundraising in 2022 led by a16z crypto.
Released whitepaper in 2022. Invited to give research talks at the Science of Blockchain Conference ‘22 (Stanford) as well as Aptos Labs and Chainlink Research in 2023.
Made initial SDK available for testing in 2023 and launched the first Linera Developer School program, a four-week program for developers to learn Linera’s new multi-chain programming paradigm and build on the SDK.
Raised an additional $6 million investment round, for a total of $12 million to date in seed funding. The round was led by Borderless Capital, with participation from Laser Digital Ventures, DFG, Cadenza, Block1, Eterna Capital, MH Ventures, Matrixport, L2IV, ArkStream, Flow Traders, GSR Markets, and OWC, with continued support from a16z crypto, Tribe Capital, and Cygni Capital, who participated in the initial seed round.
Launched our devnet, enabling developers to begin experimenting with Linera’s microchains architecture. We’ve already seen fantastic dApps being built, like ResPeer, a peer-to-peer content publishing platform that allows authors to publish content and earn credits, which can be used to purchase digital assets in the marketplace.
Next, we’re preparing for the launch of our testnet in late 2024, which will introduce key features such as our first web wallet browser extension and a token faucet, as well as offer incentives for users who actively engage with the network.
