Somnia Network (SOMI)

Somnia Network is a Layer 1 blockchain designed to serve millions of users simultaneously. It aims to achieve this by offering unmatched scalability and ultra transaction processing speed of up to 1M TPS. This is achieved by improving the following technology stack:

• MultiStream Consensus: A proof-of-stake, partially synchronous BFT protocol inspired by Autobahn BFT, optimizing security and scalability;
• Compiled Bytecode: Translates EVM bytecode into highly optimized native code, achieving near C++ execution speeds and enabling millions of TPS per core;
• IceDB: A database providing predictable, ultra-fast read/write performance (15-100 nanoseconds) with built-in snapshotting;
• Advanced Compression Techniques: Somnia uses BLS signature aggregation for signature verification speed and, crucially, because it enables a far better compression ratio.

After successfully outperforming the plan, exceeding 1M TPS on the Somnia DevNet, on February 23rd, the project announced its Somnia Testnet launch with a $10M Grant for developers. Somnia Airdrop program aims to support builders creating large-scale, real-time applications across gaming, social platforms, metaverses, and more. 

Our team supposes that rewards will be distributed to active Testnet participants as well. The project is moving forward surpassing expectations and goals and is making further steps towards Mainnet launch, introducing its own Protocols.

⚙️ Somnia Protocols

Somnia Protocols aims to increase the value of digital assets, establishing the foundational layer for a collaborative and open content ecosystem. The project has 2 major protocols to be released:

SOM0: It is the initial set of protocols Somnia will launch with. It includes 3 separate protocols for creating and adapting virtual assets, verifying attestations, and powering a global liquidity layer, all designed with an omni-chain framework for broad blockchain compatibility.

SOM1: It is a protocol that brings blockchain composability to virtual worlds, enabling permissionless creation, ownership, and interaction of on-chain entities. By treating everything as an entity with modular components, Somnia allows for dynamic NFTs, autonomous objects, and customizable smart contract logic, unlocking new possibilities for interoperable metaverse ecosystems.

🪙 Somnia Token

Since the project is in its Testnet phase, there is no info on the native token of Somnia’s Blockchain. Yet, participating in this campaign gives us information on the potential ticker of the token - $STT, which is used there. Our team assumes it to be the token of the Mainnet as well, while its utilities will be the same as with other L1s in the space - powering PoS consensus, paying fees, and participating in governance votings


Considering the ongoing Testnet and huge Somnia Network funding, our team completely analyzed the project, revealing several pros and cons:

• Very high PR performance;
• High SEO and Growth Marketing;
• Above average Influencer Marketing score;
• Good Partner ecosystem (The Spartan Group, CertiK);
• Vast funding (over $270M), according to the investment announcement from the project;
• CEO has 11+ years of experience in crypto;
• CEO is active on social media (an average of 8 posts a week).

❌ Somnia Network cons:

• Low Marketing Infrastructure performance;
• No Tokenomics;
• Other team members don’t have work experience in top-tier companies;
• No Security Audits;
• Lack of transparency in private funding: no info on the funding rounds exactly for Somnia, only for the ecosystem as a whole;
• No clear roadmap.
