Botanix Labs is the first fully EVM-equivalent L2 on Bitcoin, combining the decentralization and security of Bitcoin with the more modern Proof of Stake technology of Ethereum. It introduces Botanix EVM, its own smart contract execution environment for Bitcoin, and Spiderchain, a series of successful multisigs to enable secure storage of Bitcoins bridged to the Botanix chain.
On May 7th, 2024, the Botanix crypto project closed a $8.5M Seed funding round with participation of Polychain Capital, Placeholder Capital, Valor Equity Partners, and ABCDE.
